Garbage

Dumpling

2026-03

Looking for something to eat. I haven't had a dumpling in a while, so I go to a dumpling place. When I get there, there's a line almost out the door. So I go to another one, same thing. Mental. Forget it.

Then a few days later I pass by this run down dumpling place on either Monroe or Henry and see the same thing, line almost around the block.

Can't even get a fucking dumpling anymore.

Coffee Shop

2025-12

Go to a coffee shop. Don't understand any of the drink options. "Green machi", "Black silk cha", "Uber". Just pick one at random.

Sit down. Wet my beak. Pretty good.

Two mamaluks sit down at a table. Start talking about absolute garbage. Google this, xyz company that, electric cars, "explosive growth", exponential...

Why are you yelling when you are sitting two feet away from one another? No one cares about your computer shit, and one gives a shit about you.

Get up and leave.

Vintage Clothing

2025-10

The only clothing places around me are vintage shops. I went to one of them.

I don't get it. Do people shop at these places because the style is not available anymore? Or because the materials used are different/better? What happens if you find something and it doesn't fit? That's it. You can't get another size.

I asked the spring chicken working there why there are vintage stores. She looked at me with disgust. She said it's because it's what young people like. I said "alright", and that was that.

I went to one of the stores on Broadway a few days later. I hated it. Too many options, too many people, googoogaga music, the works. Couldn't even see straight. I almost tossed. Then one of the jabronis working there asked if I need help. Do I look like I need help? If anything, you need help.

Here's an idea: A simple store. Only one option of each item, maybe a few different colors and sizes, but nothing crazy. That's it. And if I'm there everyone else has to leave.

NYC Neighborhoods

2025-10

Was getting lunch when I heard some the people next to me talking about if Chinatown will "survive".

Most of the residents I see around here are old. There aren't too many families. I don't know how long it will take, but it will keep shrinking. Just like Little Italy did, and before that the Irish and Germans communities.

That's just how it works, baby. Place is turning in to the new Williamsburg.

Lafufu

2025-09

What the fuck is a lafufu doll?
